ANTENATAL YOGA &
Bristol Birth Support offers weekly antenatal yoga and birth preparation classes with Ly. Women can join from 16 weeks and are welcome to attend until birth. First-time mothers and those in subsequent pregnancies are all welcome. The classes will offer you the time to celebrate your pregnancy, relax with your baby, ask questions and meet other mums-to-be in a safe, welcoming and non-judgemental environment.
The classes include yoga-based exercises for pregnancy and birth and practice active birth postures. You will learn to cultivate active relaxation through breathing, hypnobirthing techniques and simple meditation techniques, to support you in birthing and beyond.
You will also develop awareness and understanding of the normal physiology of labour and how you can best support this with plenty of time for questions and discussion around specific things that are concerning you.

My baby arrived after a natural 6 hour ‘established’ labour with just gas and air and have to say that it was all down to your classes. I felt calm and used my breathing loads. So just wanted to say thank you for all your wisdom it was definitely the best birth preparation ever.

Ly’s classes were more than about just yoga and birth preparation – the one-to-one support I got from Ly was fantastic and also the environment where the other mums shared their experiences was invaluably beneficial, especially with me being a first time single-mum going through a challenging pregnancy and having back problems. Nothing can prepare you fully for birth, but Ly’s classes certainly went as far as you could go!
